Perry McDougald
Captain Perry is the CEO/CFO/Head of HR... whatever acronyms you can think of, those. He created the shop to spread his love of fly fishing and to help grow the community around him with similar values. He's a full time guide, shop owner and lover of long walks on the beach. Whether it's poling a skiff, chasing fish off the beach or prepping for some form of event at the shop, his life revolves around being outdoors and sharing his passion.
Justin Sienkiel
The bearded wonder, Justin has been with SSO in some form or fashion since the beginning. As a retired Marine, Justin keeps the shop in working order. He's the one who keeps the wheels greased and moral high. If Justin isn't on the water, he's in the shop, if he's not in the shop, he's at home tying flies, if he's not tying flies..... well I don't know, we'll find him later I guess.
Justus Akers
Our newest team member here at the shop, Justus has been a vital part of growing the SSO brand. The fly table showcases several of his patterns and our social media is full of his photos and video work. Every so often he gets out from behind the lens of the camera and gets to stand on the pointy end of the skiff, just make sure it's a warm day and he's packed his strip-set.
Tye Maynard
Tye has been with SSO since the doors opened in 2023. A spectacular fly tyer, Tye has been a contributing force to our "local selection" of flies on the table. He's not just amazing on the vise, he's been named our Employee of the Month for 34 straight months in a row. You've got questions, Tye has the answers, just let him finish his jam session on the guitar real quick and he's all yours.

John Mauser
Captain John Mauser is what we call the "OG" of this area. He's been fishing his whole life and guiding along the Crystal Coast for over a decade. With a background in marine biology, John has an interest in all species of fish. He takes annual trips to chase Shad, Striped Bass and has even been known to pole the lakes for Carp.

Cameron Pappas
Captain Cameron is an avid outdoorsman, focusing his energy on being outdoors, teaching, photography and of course, fishing. A phenomenal guide, Cameron runs a Maverick HPX-s for inshore adventures and a Bayrider 239 for larger groups inshore or any nearshore action. Mason Stewardson
Captain Mason is from North Carolina and grew up here fishing inland and coastal waters. He started his professional career in Southwest Alaska, guiding for Pacific Salmon and Rainbow Trout. Mason offers inshore saltwater fly fishing and light tackle charters, based in Swansboro, NC. His main focus is actively targeting red drum in shallow water and creating a unique experience for anyone who steps on his skiff.
